This beginner workshop will guide you through the small but necessary steps you need to take to begin your family story project. Emerge with a clearer vision of your story and the skills you need to move your project forward.
You’ll learn our Storykeeping method, a practical and supportive approach to writing about your family. No special writing talent is required.
We’ll show you how to craft your story in small segments we call Slices, pinpoint family character traits, and create a systematic notebook to hold the clutter from your mind in a useful way. Your legacy story project will become an activity you look forward to and enjoy.
Take what you learn in this workshop and continue writing on your own, or join us for our Safekeeping Essentials workshop series and be guided to write the story of your father, mother, grandmother, or grandfather.
If you have a family member who is a Holocaust survivor, please join us in our Safekeeping Stories of Your Family’s Holocaust Survivor, a workshop specifically designed for preserving these important personal stories of history.
Let us know! These are small group workshops so your input matters. You'll also be the first to find out when registration opens for the next session.
